Help & requirements

What if the selected quality cannot be downloaded?

uTube retries at the selected resolution first. If it still fails, it downloads the best working lower resolution and shows the quality saved.

Do I need to install anything else?

Android works without additional tools. The desktop app does not need Node.js or npm. The Debian package installs FFmpeg through apt. Windows, macOS, and portable Linux downloads need FFmpeg installed separately for MP3 conversion and HD merging.

Are files and history saved after closing?

Files stay on your device. Desktop and Android also save your download history. Retry interrupted downloads manually; each retry starts from the beginning.

How do updates work?

Download a newer desktop installer or signed Android APK from GitHub Releases when you want to update. For the CLI, run the installation command again. Automatic desktop updates are not included yet.
